Yes, I Do

Cathyweddingspot"I cherish the treasure, the treasure of you.  Lifelong companion i give myself to you.  God has enabled me, to walk with you faithfully… i cherish the treasure of you…"

This song has been one of my favorite wedding songs… and i was reminded again when i attended the wedding of my teammate last Jan. 21.

You see, five years ago… i stopped attending wedding ceremonies… either by my relatives or friends… why? well for the simple reason that i am so tired of explaining to people why i am not wearing a wedding bond yet… i am so tired of hearing questions like.. "oh kelan ka susunod?" "oh wala pa ba?" "kelan kami makakahigop ng mainit na sabaw?" "Ayan, naunahan ka na ng pinsan/pamangkin mo.. di ba mas matanda (ouch) ka dun?" Those questions have been nightmares to me! Promise! me mga times na gusto ko na sumigaw ng … tama naaaaaaaaaaa! ayoko naaaaaaaaa… but that was before…

hindi na ngayon!

That was before i ralized that there are so many things that i still want to do as a single… things that i want to accomplished before i enter the wonderful and exciting world of marriage… and honestly… ako nga hindi ko rin alam kung ano bang klase ng guy ang gusto ko… isa lang ang alam ko… dapat handa sya mamatay para ke Kristo!

That was before i knew kung ano yung direction na gusto ni God na tahakin ko… kung ano yung mga pinagagawa Nya sa akin… at kung gaano ang hirap na mararanasan ko sa paglilingkod ko… my life is not easy… it’s complicated… and it will take a guy with full of faith to God and stands firm on His word to be able to endure those things…

The couple met in a very unsual circumstance… one grew up in the north the one other in the south… literally dulo sa dulo ang usapan… but God has another plan… they were both M’s in China… pero magkaiba ng lugar at ng organization na kinabibilangan… but God made a way for them to meet…

A friend of mine told me a story about a guy whose praying to have a GF… and payo daw ng ptra nila eh mag fasting at ipagpray at sabihin ke Lord kung ano yung gusto ng puso nya… so this guy fasted and prayed… during the time na nasa prayer room sya sa church… sabi nya ke Lord… kung sino yung unang babae na papasok sa church at nakasuot ng dilaw eh yun yung best girl na ibibigay ni Lord sa kanya… after 30 mins daw… me kumatok sa pinto ng church… nung pagbukas nya… there she is! a girl whose wearing a yellow blouse, and other things na binigay nya ke Lord as sign… me isa nga lang problema… yung babaeng dumating eh yung babaeng pinakaiinisan nya sa church… what he did??? bumalik sa prayer room at sinabi ke Lord na nagbibiro lang sya! hehehe… well, eventually they ended up together… so kayo… be careful sa pananalangin nyo ha… kasi si Lord matindi ang sense of humor… you might get what you asked for… hehehe…

Now, i do not avoid attending weddings anymore…in fact, i even helped them organized and coordinate the event… natutuwa ako makita na ang dalawang puso na tunay na nagmamahalan ay binibigkis sa harapan ng Panginoon…

at kapag naririnig ko ang kantang Cherish the Treasure?  nangingiti na lang ako.. sabay sabi ke Lord na…. "Lord alam ko na mas maganda love story ko… ikaw ata personally ang susulat nito!"
