Listen For Love
" Let me love you, from the bottom of my heart… Let me love you
till all the stars surrender to the dark and the words sometimes fail me I just want to say… That nothing or no one’s ever touched me this way… Let me love you from the bottom of my heart.. " (Jed Madella)
Today, i read an article about how to listen for love. The sentences/words are not new to me. I mean i have read and heard those thing before. From the magazines, radios, tvs, to Sunday sermons. And yet, it always fascinates and interest me (just like other people im sure… hehehe) to talk about love.
The article stated that we tend to overlooked or should i say overlistened to love. When our parents got angry with us because we did something wrong (especially if we put our lives in danger deliberately or not) , we tend to focus on the negative things that they say. We didn’t even think that the reason they were angry was because they were scared that something bad happened to us. They love us too much that they do not want any thing to hurt us.
When our teacher got angry because we failed the exam, it doesn’t mean that they were telling us that we are stupid, or we are hopeless. But they just wanted us to excel in our studies because they care about our futures.
But why is it that when you truly love a person/s, it seems hard to say that you love them. Why is it that we are deaf to the love that they wanted to communicate with us? It’s hard to say the words, as if something is blocking your mouth to actually say it or blocking your ears to hear it. Why is it that the things that matters most are also the things that we neglected most. Like saying "I LOVE YOU".
We tend to show our love through other ways. Like saying, "ingat ka ha!" or "wag ka magpapagabi delikado panahon ngayon" or "wag ka masyado magpapagod at wag ka magpapatuyo ng pawis baka ka magkasakit". For other people, this constant reminders are irritating, "parang sirang plakang paulit-ulit". But if we dig deeper to the meaning, if we listen closely… it only means " kasi mahal kita".
You can say that, "ok lang naman yun eh. Kahit di ko sabihin na mahal ko sila alam na nila yun!". But you know what? One thing that i have learned, sometimes people need affirmations of love. Doing things, giving gifts etc. just to say i love you is not enough. Sometimes , they wanted to hear the actual words. Kasi iba ang dating… sabi nga eh "me arrived". it’s different when you hear those words, especially kung galing sa puso. May kilig kang mararamdaman. Corny man pakinggan, dyahe man sabihin pero wala pa ring tatalo kung maririnig mo ang mga katagang ito… I love you… Mahal Kita… Iniibig kita.
KASI…. MAHAL KO KAYO!
