Looking at Love

Look “Now, I can take the time, I can see my life… As it comes up shining now. Reaching out to touch you, I can feel so much… Since I found you… Looking through the eyes of love” (Looking Through the Eyes of Love, Melissa Manchester)

I’ve been sitting on this spot at Mc Donalds for almost an hour now (we usually go to mc do not to eat but to read books or study because it is much cooler, libre pa aircon hehehe).  I am engrossed with learning how to understand the complexities of writing the chinese character when i noticed this couple sitting across my table.  What caught my attention was not their noise, but the silent way they communicate with each other. I didn’t notice that i was staring at them or observing them, i did not know for how long but there is something about them that really made me look.

The guy is in his late thirty’s, and the girl at her late twenty’s.  The moment i look at them, never… not even one word escaped from their lips.  Each of them had a medium size softdrink and nothing else.

They would looked at each other from time to time and smiled.  Occasionally sipping their softdrinks, then look at each other again and smiled.  The guy would touch the arm of the girl, the girl would looked at the guy and they will both smiled.  The girl would reached for the hand of the guy, then they will looked at each other again and smiled.  It looked like an old Charlie Chaplian movie.  All actions but no talkies.

But the craziest thing is that… as they smiled to each other, i can feel the love that radiated from them… Funny huh? here i am telling you guys to go ahead and tell to your love ones how you feel not just by actions but also with words, and yet here i am witnessing the love from this two silent people.  The look and the love that sparked between them is enough to power up the whole place.  It was so strong that i can actually feel it (ako lang kaya or me ibang tao rin na nakapasin? hehehe).

Haaaaaayyyy… love, love, love… i may not explain the complexities… or justify the reasons… i’m not an expert on the subject.  Gosh! i’m not even sure kung “sya” na nga yung guy for me… but one thing i am sure of…

Sometimes… love is just there, looking right at our face, under our nose… we are not just paying attention to it… so it slipped away…

oh! And by the way… nope, they are not deaf and mute people… caused i heard them calling honey to each other when they were leaving the place…
